In our memory, 37℃ is considered the standard body temperature. However, have you noticed that often our measured body temperatures don't reach 37℃ in our daily lives?
In 2017, researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard published a research paper titled "Individual differences in normal body temperature: longitudinal big data analysis of patient records" in the BMJ journal. They conducted 243,506 oral temperature measurements on 35,488 adults in the UK, and the results showed that the average oral temperature was approximately 36.6℃.
In 2020, a team from Stanford University School of Medicine published a study titled "Decreasing human body temperature in the United States since the Industrial Revolution" in the eLife journal. They analyzed data from the United States and found that the average body temperature of Americans had decreased by 0.4℃ in less than 200 years, from 37℃ to 36.6℃.
This indicates that over time, human body temperature seems to be slowly decreasing, and human physiology may be undergoing some changes.
Low body temperature usually reflects a decrease in the body's basal metabolic rate, a slowing of blood flow, and a decrease in the efficiency of white blood cells. Therefore, when facing external threats such as viruses or bacteria, the immune response may also decrease.
What causes the decrease in modern human body temperature?
Scientists speculate that the main reason is a lack of exercise.
With the development of technology, people seem to be becoming more and more "lazy."
They rely on takeout for meals, take a cab when going out, have washing machines for laundry, dishwashers for washing dishes, robots for sweeping floors, and can play games lying in bed at any time. People seem to have lost interest in outdoor activities, and the proportion of obese people is increasing year by year. All of these contribute to a decrease in the body's basal metabolic rate.
In such a situation, how can we achieve the best of both worlds - being "lazy" yet still exercising?
Why not try the Farrayen Far Infrared Sauna Room?
20 minutes of sitting = 4 hours of jogging
Let your skin breathe freely
Let the fat burn freely
You can "exercise" while sitting
You can also use the far-infrared rays (6-14μm) released by the light-wave room to expand micro blood vessels, increase tissue blood flow, effectively enhance body metabolism, and regulate body imbalance, keeping the body in a healthy state.
